Braelyn Rose Matson

It's been awhile since I have updated the blog and so many things have happened. On June 6, 2011 the greatest gift joined our lives. Our little princess was finally born. She was due on May 30th, but one week and 14 1/2 hours later Braelyn Rose Matson was born. She joined our family at 9:40 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

She was bigger than we expected, but she also got to bake and extra week so all is well. We knew she was going to have a lot of hair, but we didn't expect it to be blonde. Daddy was so proud. He got to cut the cord and learn all about the placenta and everything.

Her first bath was interesting. She screamed until it was time to wash her hair. Then she was like a lady at the salon. She loved it. She had lots of curly dirty blonde hair. It looks a little red in the picture though.

Her bili numbers were really high, so a couple days after we got her home, she had to start being on the bili lights. A few days later, she no longer needed them, and she was a much happier camper. We love her so much!! She is such a blessing in our lives!

Baby Updates

So here is an update on our baby. We are having a girl! We are so excited about it. She will be here in sixteen more weeks and we can't wait. My belly is starting to show! School is going well for me. Tyler just got him a commuter bike so that he can ride to work and have less risk of injury. It is also a heavier bike so it will give him more of a workout.

This is my baby belly at 23 weeks. Our little girl was very active and shifty this week and it made us laugh so hard. It was pretty funny to watch my belly button change from innie to outie and back again!

This is our little baby girl at 20 weeks. This is the week where we finally were able to see she was a girl. At our previous appointments, she was hiding and being very modest. Sweet little baby! We love you so much!!!

Update on the Matsons

I just thought I would update what is going on with Tyler and me. Tyler is busy at work and loving his job at ENVE Composites. They make bike parts and fancy tires. He is also getting ready for the cycling season to start. He is very excited to be a daddy and is looking forward to seeing his little girl. Right now, he is not in college, but he is working on getting his coaching license for cycling and getting a personal training certificate so he can start working in that field. He has decided he wants to go into exercise physiology and sports science.
As for me, I am working part time at the boy scout office as a receptionist and going to school. I am taking all of my pre-professional credits this semester for the family studies program. After this semester, I am probably taking a break or taking online classes from USU for the Family and Consumer Sciences Education. I am also loking forward to being a mom, even though I am very nervous. I can't wait to see my precious little girl and hold her in my arms. I am 23 weeks along now so only 17 more weeks! (I'm being an optomist!)
We just got a Chevy Venture Van and are loving it. We are going to be able to do so much with it come cycling season. We are also loving our apartment. We have been here for 4 months and think it is going to be great for the next couple of years, especially with our baby. Well I guess that is all for right now! Lots of Love!
