11 Months and Christmas Time

So it's been a little while, but things have been crazy around here. Normally I talk about the kids first but I just wanted to explain why it has been crazy. We had Thanksgiving which was a ball. Matsons came to town so it was a lot of fun having family here with us. We were able to go to the CU-Utah football game. 

After thanksgiving break, Tyler headed back to school and I was back to work. I work 3 out of 4 nights Monday thru Thursday usually and a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and Tyler works Friday-Sunday night from 4-2 or later. Last week was the final week of the semester and this week is finals so Tyler is going a little nuts getting ready. So now that that's done, onto the fun part-the kids :)

Braxten: He Is such a boy. He's getting bigger and bigger everyday. He weighs about 23 lbs and his feet are only an inch shorter than Braelyn's feet. He is walking all over the place, but his problem is  once he figured out how to walk he was running and when he runs he falls down. The benefit of that is after he falls he plays peek-a-boo through his legs like downward dog. He is 11 months this week and it makes me sad because it means my baby is growing up. He's almost always happy and loves everyone. At our ward party a few people held him while I was taking Braelyn to the bathroom. They were surprised at how happy and comfortable he was with them. No crying Santa pictures here for this family ;)

Braelyn: she is getting so smart and learning more with letters and their sounds. She is getting very artistic and loves drawing and coloring. She is doing better at listening and cleaning her room thanks to the "cleaning fairy" who cleans and takes toys after she's gone to bed if they get left on her floor. 

Braelyn has such a big heart. She is always concerned about others and their feelings. She gives me foot rubs just out of the blue and when Braxten is hurt or crying, she runs to make sure he is ok and tells him she loves him and gives him a big hug. She loves to FaceTime and Googly hangout with family. Most of the time she can't keep still, but if Zippy is there (my parents Scotty dog) she holds so still and just talks to the puppy and tells her how much she misses playing with her. She misses her aunts and uncles so much. She loves getting mail jut for her and has been writing letters that we need to get sent. So to Kenzie, Nick, Amy, Kelby: Braelyn would love a letter or Christmas card or something like that. You would brighten her whole day!!

The Christmas photos will have to wait til next blog. They are on the sd card so in order to put them on I need the computer and Tyler has been crazy with finals so I haven't had access to the computer since they were taken...

Halloween

Here are just a couple pictures from Halloween. It was just me and the kids since Tyler had to work, so it didn't turn out how I wanted and expected. I was behind the camera the whole time so all you'll see is the kids.

Here are my little Rapunzel and Pascal. It turned out really cute and Braelyn had a blast trick or treating. We participated in the munchkin March on Pearl street then went to bishops house. He got some great pictures of the kids so hopefully I can get those up soon. 

9 Months Old

I can't believe my little man is 9 months old already! He is such a happy boy, and now that we are back with Daddy he is back to sleeping through the night which has been wonderful. Braxten loves to crawl everywhere and try to climb all over everything. He can go UP the stairs, but hasn't figured out going DOWN so it's baby gates for us! His favorite food is yogurt and he loves trying to eat whatever we are having. He is constantly trying to eat sister's crayons, and almost always has one in each hand-despite me hiding them and putting them away he always seems to find one. Braxten is walking all over everything as long as he has a hold of something. I wish we had a walking/push toy for him to play with. He is finally getting some teeth. There are three of them trying to push their way through so in the next week he will most likely no longer have the gummy smile :-(.

Braelyn is adjusting to the move. She still won't say bye to anyone but us because she knows we will be back. She loves her closet because it is big enough to play 'house' in. I put her play kitchen and her food in there and that is where she plays. She wants to make friends, but we have only been to church the one week and this coming Sunday is Stake Conference so we won't see many kids again. She does have an adult friend named Amy. She loves her and wants to sit with her anytime we see her.

Tyler is busy with school and work. He is working in the kitchen at Old Chicago Pizza and they are taking good care of him. I am starting there on Monday and we will be working opposite shifts. I will be back to waitressing so I am excited. Other than that I have just been working on getting our apartment unpacked. When I finish getting everything set up I'll post some pictures of our new apartment and everything.

8 Months and Eventful Week

So I'm running a little behind, but last week Braxten turned eight months old. He is a very inquisitive and curious little boy. He gets into everything, but I love his cute curiosity. Last week while we were at my in-laws, he got very quiet and we found him playing and eating the dirt in the house plant. His curiosity has just grown since then 😄 He loves trying to climb stairs, but he doesn't have a clue how to go down them except headfirst.He decided that baby food really isn't that bad and he enjoys eating his fruits. Vegetables are another story… Braxten weighs about 19 pounds and is about 28 inches tall. His favorite activities include crawling everywhere and chasing after his sister. He misses his daddy who's in Colorado and we're excited to see him soon. 

So onto our eventful week: On Sunday, Braxten was standing against the tub and fell and split his tongue open even though he doesn't have any teeth. He bled a lot but he didn't bite through his tongue so it wasn't anything to worry too much about-I just had to stop the bleeding. And then Thursday night Braelyn fell out of her bed in her sleep and whacked her head on her dresser. The dresser was open just enough that she when she hit it, it split her head open. I called my mom to see what I needed to do and then called my in-laws to have them come sit with Braxten while I took her to the after hours clinic. An hour and a half later we were home with two staples in her head. Then Friday night she was running a really high fever so I had to take her back into the after hours clinic to figure out why she was running a fever and the medicine wasn't bringing it down-so that was another fun event. It turned out to be a virus so we just had to let it run its course and keep the medicine in her.

Braxten is 6 months!

On Wednesday Braxten hit the six month mark. My little boy is getting too big. He also had his 6 month check up.  He weighed in at 17 pounds and was 26 3/4 inches. His head was 44.5 cm around. He did so well in his doctors appointment. Dr. Pruitt even told me he wanted to take Braxten home with him because he is the perfect little guy. Braxten does have a stills murmur but it's nothing we need to worry about right now,  so we will see where we're at in three months for his next appointment. Braxten is very mobile. He rolls all over the place and scoots across the floor, mostly in circles. He is a very happy and smiley baby. He loves his big sister and is always happy when she is around. He loves sweet potatoes, oatmeal, bananas, and peaches. He can almost sit up by himself without support.

Braelyn is a very busy 3 year old. This week she has learned to cut with scissors and is learning how to identify letters. She has been spending the week at a weeklong preschool where she has done really well. Our only problem is she is too focused on the other kids to eat her lunch. It has gotten worse as the week has progressed as well. It's really frustrating. I'm going to start a be reward program so we'll see how that goes...

4th of July Jello

My 4th of July jello has become an essential at the Hutchison family 3rd of July South Salt Lake firework party. I decided to make it today and share the recipe with you guys. So here it goes!!

What you will need:

Large Box Lemon cook and serve jello

Large box strawberry or raspberry Jello

3 egg yolks

3/4 c. sugar

Water

Cool whip or whipping cream

Blueberries

Strawberries and/or Raspberries

Cook the Lemon pudding according to package directions (here is where you need the egg yolks, sugar, and 3 cups water)

While you are mixing that boil 2 cups water and mix in a large bowl with the strawberry or raspberry jello. Add 2 cups cold water and set aside

Continue mixing the lemon pudding. Once it boils and thickens, mix it with the raspberry/strawberry jello and pour into a 9x13 dish. Put it in the refrigerator and allow to gel for approximately 6 hours

After the jello has hardened, frost with the cool whip and decorate with the fruit.

Father's Day Week

The week of Father's Day we did a lot if fun things. On Father's Day we couldn't go to Morgan because Tyler had to teach young men's but we went to Tyler's family's house. We had burgers and hot dogs and I made peach cupcakes for dessert. 

On Monday for make something Monday we made muffins. Braelyn had a lot of fun stirring the batter and helping pour it in the cupcake liners. 

Take a trip Tuesday found us in Tooele to visit my new nephew. My grandma doesn't drive on I-15 so she came to my house and I drove us there. Braelyn got to play with Caydence and we got to hold a new baby. Win-win! 

On Wednesday we went to play with Danika, Karli, and Sierra. Braelyn played dress up and Braxten was showing off for Sierra. She would scoot so of course he tried scooting. He was fascinated by her. She is exactly 2 months older than her but he is already much bigger than she is. I love her grin!!

On Thursday we didn't really do much. We just stuck around the house and cleaned and played. The story is same for Friday. I worked so it was pretty lackluster. 

Saturday we had the Dickson family reunion and Tyler raced his bike from Kamas to Evanston over mirror lake highway. He took 6th so that was pretty cool. It made for a really long day though.
